Council To Talk Budget At Wednesday Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council meets in regular session this Wednesday, the 2022-23 budget will be on their agenda.

The Council will hold a public hearing on the budget at Wednesday’s meeting, and are expected to pass a resolution approving the 22-23 Maximum Property Tax Dollars during the meeting. They’re also expected to set a date and time for a public hearing on the adoption of the 22-23 budget.

In other action, the Council is expected to enter a Contract for Development and Minimum Assessment Agreement with LK Enterprises, LLC, for the development of a strip mall facility in the Crossroads area. Plans call for the facility to be constructed to the southeast of McDonald’s in Sheldon Crossing.

The Council is also expected to adopt a new 28E agreement with Grant Township for fire protection. In addition, they’re scheduled to hear a report from the Sheldon Fire Company and the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team during Wednesday’s meeting.
