COVID Webinars Scheduled To Help Northwest Iowans Make Decisions

Northwest Iowa — To help provide Iowans with the information they need to make decisions about their health, a COVID webinar has been scheduled.

Lyon County Public Health Administrator Melissa Stillson tells us that the Iowa Department of Public Health will be hosting a vaccine education webinar series to offer an opportunity for Iowans to ask questions of medical providers and learn more about the COVID-19 vaccines that are available. She says they will continue to strive to educate county residents on the importance of being informed about the vaccines.

Stillson says, “As Local Public Health it is important that if our county residents have concerns about the COVID-19 vaccines, they know we can be a resource to answer their questions as well. The vaccines that are available will be another tool in the fight to prevent severe illness.”

If you watch the webinar, you can find out how vaccines are tested, where you can get vaccinated in your county, what you can do after you are vaccinated, and learn other vaccine information.

The live, virtual information sessions will be held on April 17th, 19th, and 24th. Experts from the Iowa Department of Public Health and the University of Iowa will speak and answer your questions about vaccine creation, safety and efficacy, and what getting vaccinated means for you and your loved ones.

The first two webinars, this Saturday at 10 a.m. and this coming Monday at 6 p.m. will be in English. The third webinar, held on Saturday, April 24th at 10 a.m. will be in Spanish.
