Sibley, Iowa — An online creative writing assignment prompted an investigation this past weekend in the Sibley-Ocheyedan Community Schools.
Sibley-Ocheyedan Superintendent James Craig talked with KIWA about what happened.
Craig says the creative writing assignment was posted online.
He says when they heard about the concerns, the school district reached out to NCC and to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office as part of their investigation.
Craig says they took the incident seriously because the safety of their students and staff is their highest priority.
Parents of Sibley-Ocheyedan students were notified of the incident via an email blast, as well as a post on the district’s Facebook page.
