Sheldon, Iowa — The deadline is rapidly approaching to apply for one of two scholarships designed to help people who went to high school in Sheldon come back to town to live and work.
Sheldon Development Director Curt Strouth tells us about the new “Homecoming Scholarships.”
He says the scholarships will be used specifically for college debt reduction.
Strouth told KIWA the main reason this scholarship program was created is because there are more jobs in northwest Iowa than there are people to fill them.
The deadline to submit an application for the scholarships is March 1st. The review of the applications will take place between March 1st and 15th, and the scholarships will be awarded by April 30th.
