Spirit Lake, Iowa — The arrangement in which Dickinson County Engineer Dan Eckert is sharing his services with Osceola County is about to come to an end.
The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors made the decision at their meeting Tuesday morning. Dickinson County Supervisor Kim Wermerson says Dickinson County has done their part, and it’s time for other surrounding counties’ engineers to pitch in and help out Osceola County.
Wermerson says Eckert has been a good neighbor to Osceola County for four months. But Wermerson says the well-being of Dickinson County’s employees and the needs that the Dickinson County department has are important as well.
The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to end the agreement at the end of November to give Osceola County time to make other arrangements.
