Disaster Assistance On The Way For Iowa Farmers

Des Moines, Iowa — Iowa farmers will receive disaster relief assistance starting this month.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture said the roughly $688 million allocated to Iowa is the most for any state. This includes farmers with livestock and crops affected by drought, tornadoes, or flooding over the past two years.

Livestock producers who had losses due to drought and wildfires will be the first to receive payments by the end of May, with more funds dispersed throughout the summer.
