Sioux Center, Iowa – An Orange City man was arrested this past Saturday following a motor vehilce accident in Sioux Center.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us they arrested 23-year-old Shayne Jacobson of Orange City, following a report of a disturbance involving Jacobsen that occurred at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Jacobson was under the influence of alcohol and had been involved in a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 410th Street, three miles northeast of Orange City.
Jacobson had been driving a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on 410th Street when he lost control and entered the south ditch.
Two passengers in the vehicle were transported by private vehicle to Sioux Center Health for treatment of their injuries.
The Chevrolet sustained approximately $5,000 in damage.
Jacobson was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated; additionally, he was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and failure to provide proof of insurance.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department.
