Ames, Iowa — Highway 75 is being re-done through Sioux Center now, but Iowa Department of Transportation planners are now taking comments on their plan to re-do the highway between Sioux Center and Perkins Corner (where it meets Highway 18 East).
DOT planners tell us the project will include pavement replacement, improvements to the intersection with 12th Street North, adding a median and turn lanes from 12th Street North to 20th Street North, and adding turning lanes at both junctions of B30.
During the reconstruction of Highway 75, the DOT tells us traffic will be detoured. Construction is expected to start spring of 2027.
The DOT will hold an open-house meeting on Tuesday November 19th, 2024, between 4 and 6:30 p.m. at the Sioux Center Public Library at 102 South Main Avenue (Highway 75) in Sioux Center.
If you go, they tell us you will be provided with information about the project, and you can talk through your ideas with DOT staff. There will be no formal presentation. The meeting space is accessible for people with disabilities.
You can also “attend the meeting” virtually. Learn about the project and share your feedback online. You will need to provide your name and zip code before viewing the information.
