Sheldon, Iowa — If you need a flu shot and you’re busy, or you or a loved-one is mobility-challenged, there’s an opportunity for you at Sanford Sheldon on Thursday (as long as you’re willing to get up on time.)
It’s only available for one hour — from 7 until 8 a.m. — but Sanford Sheldon is doing a “Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic.” Amanda Rozeboom, a registered nurse and the Clinical Supervisor for Sanford Sheldon Clinic tells us about it.
Lisa De Witt, who is a Licensed Practical Nurse and is the Primary Nurse for Dr. Sara Zoelle tells us that the plan is to have you drive right up under the canopy — not unlike what you might do at a fancy place for valet parking.
Sanford officials tell us most insurance plans do pay for the flu shot, but that’s one of the things they’ll go through with you when they do the pre-shot paperwork, and they’ll let you know if there are any insurance issues.
Of course, they offer the flu shot any time they’re open as well. Just call the clinic to make an appointment, or ask when they are offering walk-in flu shots.
Plus, there’s kind of a fun way for kids to get their flu shot as well. Rozeboom tells us about it.
Again, the Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic is for one hour only from 7 until 8 a.m. on Thursday (October 24th). The Boo to the Flu event, is on Halloween night, October 31st, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
