E-Recycling Available Friday And Saturday For Orange City, Alton Residents

Alton, Iowa — The Cities of Orange City & Alton are co-sponsoring a free electronic recycling program this weekend.

Matt Van Schouwen, Public Works Director for the City of Orange City, tells us when the program will be happening.

(As said, “That is happening on June 5 and 6, so this Friday and Saturday. On Friday it will be happening from 4 until 7 pm. And on Saturday the 6th it will be from 9 am to noon. That will be happening at the Alton City Office. Orange City and Alton are partnering in this event. Alton hosts it at their location in the spring, and Orange City hosts it in the fall.”)

Van Schouwen says it’s just for the residents of Orange City and Alton.

(As said, “This is for residential citizens of Orange City and Alton, so they can bring that. Commercial businesses they will need to work out, there are other opportunities for them to hire that done, so this is just for the residents for Orange City and Alton.”)

He tells us about what items may be e-recycled.

(As said, “Can be any electronics, TV’s, computers, monitors, telephones, those sorts of things. Also batteries can be brought in as well. Any electronics that is not being used can be taken there.”)

He tells us the items that can’t be e-recycled are car batteries and light bulbs.

Again this is for Alton and Orange City residents only, and will be happening this Friday and Saturday in Alton.
