Election Results

Northwest Iowa — Northwest Iowa voters went to the polls on Tuesday to select city and school candidates and decide on city and school issues.

Here are some of the results.

All of the Sheldon and Sheldon School District races were unopposed. Mayor Greg Geels was elected as were At-Large Council Member Tom Eggers, and Ward 2 member Ken Snyder. For the Sheldon Community School District Board, Lori Richards won a Director-At-Large position and Susan Rensink won the Director District 1 position.

Your George City Council members will be Bobby Gruis and Carola Oehmsen Vivian. In Little Rock, your City Council members elected Tuesday were Shannon Lloyd and Diane Peters. Out of nine people running for three seats on the Primghar City Council, the three highest vote-getters were Steve Wittrock, Tim Honkomp, and Kenneth Miller. In Rock Rapids, Roland Vander Lee defeated challenger Richard Reitsma for a council to-fill-a-vacancy position.

In the South O’Brien School district, Joshua Rausch defeated Bobbi Honkomp for the Director, District 2 to-fill-a-vacancy spot.

Voters in both the Rock Valley and Central Lyon school districts passed their Physical Plant and Equipment levies or PPELs.

Voters in the Sheldon, Sibley-Ocheyedan and Central Lyon districts passed their revenue purpose statements.
