Washington, D.C. — Iowa’s junior U.S. Senator, Joni Ernst, says she’s glad President Joe Biden decided to ban the importation of Russian oil into the U.S. because of their invasion of Ukraine.
However, she questions the timing.
Ernst also took issue with Biden saying electric vehicles would solve the nation’s dependence on fossil fuels.
Ernst says she does not understand why President Joe Biden is contemplating lifting oil sanctions on Iran over its nuclear development while banning Russian oil because of Ukraine.
Ernst made her comments in a YouTube video released late Tuesday afternoon.
