Northwest Iowa — Some northwest Iowa farmers may need to prioritize which corn fields to harvest first, due to a fungus striking the fields. That’s from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Field Agronomist Joel De Jong.
De Jong says that about this time of year he encourages farmers to check their corn stalks for stalk integrity.
De Jong says it’s too late to apply any sort of fungicide, but knowing which fields are more of a problem gives farmers more data for next time.
