George, Iowa — A program designed to help make families stronger during the middle school years — before youth enter high school — is planned again in George.
Sue Boettcher with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach tells us about the “Strengthening Families” program.
She tells us what families can expect if they go.
Boettcher tells us that the program is used around the world. The other one that is nearby is in the Sioux County town of Hawarden.
She emphasizes that you don’t necessarily have to have kids that go to George/Little Rock — it’s for anyone — and it’s free.
She says families are encouraged to register online at https://form.jotform.com/4Hregion1/sfp2020 so that appropriate meals and supplies can be prepared. Questions can be directed to Sue Boettcher (712-472-2576 or boettcher@iastate.edu) or to George-Little Rock Middle School Principal Karie Aeikens (712-475-3675 or kaeikens@george-littlerock.org).
For detailed information, research and resources about SFP 10-14, she says you can visit www.extension.iastate.edu/sfp10-14.
