Fishing Photo Contest Taking The Place Of Ringneck Rendezvous This Year

Rock Valley, Iowa — The Sioux County Conservation Board normally hosts an annual event for families. “Ringneck Rendezvous” is a partnership between Pheasants Forever, the Sioux County Conservation Board, and the Rock Valley Gun Club.

But winning the Ringneck Rendezvous Grand Prize will look a little different this year. Sioux County Conservation Board officials tell us that the grand prize is sponsored by Sioux Commercial Sweeping and will be a certificate for a guided Ice Fishing Trip or Boat Trip for one kid, parent, and one friend.

We’re told if you want to enter, grab your favorite Ringneck Rendezvous memorabilia, and head out to your best fishing spot. Whatever the size, take a picture with your fish and Ringneck gear and submit them to summercampnaturalist@siouxcounty.org, with the child’s name.

Conservation Board officials tell us that for every photo submitted, that name will be added to the grand prize drawing. The drawing will be done on August 1st. The certificate will be valid from August 2020-February 2021.

Ringneck Rendezvous is an annual event that takes place in early August for ages 5 and up at the Rock Valley Gun Club. It is the purpose of the event to connect youth to the outdoors through learning stations, programs, and outdoor prizes. Due to COVID-19, the event will not be held this year. Annual sponsors are Sioux Prairie Pheasants Forever, Sioux County Conservation Board, and the Rock Valley Gun Club. Conservation Board officials tell us that many local businesses and individuals donate time and resources “to make this an outstanding event.”
