Hull, Iowa — Five people were taken to the hospital after an accident at the Perkins corner on Friday afternoon.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:18 p.m., 32-year-old Pan Chixiong of Hull was driving a 2001 Honda Accord westbound on 320th Street. They say 26-year-old Monica Hernandez of Hawarden was driving a 2007 Hummer northbound on Highway 75.
According to the report, Chixiong drove into the intersection and was struck by Hernandez.
The Hull Ambulance took three passengers in Chixiong’s vehicle to the Sioux Center Health Hospital. Hernandez and a passenger were transported by the Hull Ambulance to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley. Additional passengers in both vehicles reported minor injuries and sought medical attention on their own.
The Sheriff’s Office says that the Honda sustained about $7,000 in damage, and that the Hummer sustained approximately $12,000 in damage.
They report Chixiong was cited on a charge of failure to yield entering a through highway.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Hull Fire Department and the Hull Ambulance crew assisted on the scene.
