Former Archer Postmaster To Attend Presidential Inauguration

Archer, Iowa — A former Archer man is going to be one of the thousands in attendance in Washington, DC. for the second inauguration of President Donald Trump.

But according to organizers, President-elect Trump has moved the official ceremony inside, due to below-freezing temperatures forecast in Washington on Monday. The National Weather Service says highs in Washington that day will only reach the mid 20s. An average temperature during the inauguration has been 37 degrees, according to weather officials.

But Richard Ludeke and his wife Miriam, formerly of Archer who now live in Clear Lake, will still be there. While Trump and Vice-President-Elect JD Vance will be sworn in inside the Capitol Rotunda, Ludeke says he and other ticket holders will be moved to the Capital One Arena, about a mile away, where the inaugural parade will also be held.

Ludeke tells us how he was afforded this opportunity.

He tells us about his military honors.

He tells us about his military background.

Ludeke was also the Postmaster in Archer. He gives us his thoughts about being able to attend the inauguration.

He says they also have some other plans in D.C.

Trump will be sworn in about noon Eastern Time and will join the crowd at Capital One Arena in Washington after the ceremony.
