Westfield, Iowa — Plymouth County authorities have arrested a former Westfield City Clerk following an investigation into financial irregularities in that city.
Plymouth County Sheriff Mike Van Otterloo says his office investigated a complaint by the Mayor of Westfield that a Fund Raiser account for the Westfield Public Park, and the T-Ball complex was missing funds.
Van Otterloo says the investigation culminated in an arrest warrant being issued for former Westfield City Clerk Angela Sorensen of Westfield, charging her with Theft in the 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony.
Sheriff Van Otterloo says Sorensen was arrested on the warrant in Le Mars on Wednesday (October 11th), with bond set at $5-thousand.
According to Van Otterloo, Sorensen appeaered before a Plymouth County Judge, and was released on her own signature.
