Sheldon, Iowa — A business that’s new to Sheldon held a ribbon cutting Friday morning with a crowd of local businesspeople and dignitaries on hand.
The ribbon was cut at Jimmy John’s, which is located in the Cenex Travel Plaza at the 18 & 60 junction in far eastern Sheldon.
Shantel Oostra started off the proceedings, speaking on behalf of the City of Sheldon. She offered her congratulations to Jimmy John’s on their ribbon cutting.
SCDC President Trevor Gottula spoke on behalf of the organization and reminisced about his first time eating a Jimmy John’s sandwich.
Ambassador’s President Skip Tanner presented the operators of Sheldon’s Jimmy John’s, Houston and Rick Hartwig, with a plaque to commemorate their ribbon cutting.
Houston Hartwig then told the group how Sheldon’s Jimmy John’s came about.
Hartwig says the posted store hours at 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, but he says those hours are flexible. Hartwig says the Sheldon Jimmy John’s also does catering, even on short-notice, in addition to their “Freaky, Fast Delivery.”
