Government Mandates Mean Changes At VNU

Sheldon, Iowa — As the result of two new government mandates, there will be some changes in the way Village Northwest Unlimited delivers some of the services their clients.

Village President Barry Whitsell says the mandates will result in the sale of some of VNU’s property.

Whitsell talks about the effects of the second government mandate.

He says the new mandates will also include some changes in the Village’s Autism Program.

VNU’s coffee house, Fantasia, is housed in the ACT building, and Whitsell says, with the sale of that building, Fantasia will be closed.

Whitsell says the sale of the ACT building and closing of Fantasia absolutely DOES NOT translate to any financial problems at the Village, but are being done because with the new government mandates, they simply don’t require the space they did before.

Whitsell’s comments came during a Press Briefing Friday morning at Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon.
