Sheldon, Iowa — The annual Heroes Behind The Badges blood drive is coming up on Monday in Sheldon.
Not only is it a blood drive that bolsters the local blood supply, including that for Sanford Sheldon, it’s also a friendly competition between two local teams of heroes: the team of the Sheldon Police Department and the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team; and the team of the Sheldon Fire Company and Sheldon Emergency Management.

VerSteeg says the Heroes Behind The Badges Blood Drive is celebrating a big birthday this year.
According to VerSteeg, when you come out to give blood on Monday, just let them know if you want your donation vote to go to the police department and SCAT or the fire department and EMA. You can sign up for an appointment at cbblifeblood.org.
