Highway 3 Between Marcus And Remsen Will Be Closed For A Week

Marcus, Iowa — If your travels have you using Highway 3 between Marcus and Remsen, you should know it is expected to be closed starting next Monday, July 24th for a concrete paving project.

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, that section of Highway 3 will be closed from July 24th until August 31st, weather permitting. During the closure, drivers will be detoured off of the highway to a marked route that consists of Highway 140 and county roads C-38 and L-36.

The DOT reminds people to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As is the case in all work zones, stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
