Sheldon, Iowa — In addition to a predatory telemarketing campaign that involves the telemartketer attempting to convince HTC Communications landline telephone customers that HTC is getting out of the telephone business, some of HTC’s customers are now receiving emails from someone purporting to represent HTC Communications.
HTC Communications tells KIWA that they have been made aware of an email that their customers are receiving that states it comes from HTC Communications. According to the company, this email asks for the username and password for your HTC email. It also states that your email is full, and they need your information to “reset your space”. HTC urges you to NOT respond, since this is phishing in an attempt to hack your email. HTC Communications assures customers that they DID NOT send this email. If you have HTC Communications internet and email they already HAVE your username and password.
As for the callers who try to get you to switch telephone carriers because, they say, HTC is getting out of the telephone business, HTC President Dave Raack says nothing could be further from the truth. He say that, in fact, HTC is signing up new telephone customers nearly every day.

Sheldon, Iowa — HTC telephone customers in Sheldon have reportedly been receiving phone calls in recent days, in which aggressive salespeople are telling them that HTC Communications is preparing to discontinue landline telephone service. HTC Communications President Dave Raak says nothing could be further from the truth.
Raak says the calls are being made in the Sheldon area by aggressive telemarketers who are trying to get HTC customers to switch their telephone service from HTC to another provider. Raak says that in the process the telemarketers lead the customer to believe that HTC is not going to continue offering their landline service. Raak called that claim, “categorically false”. In fact, he says, HTC is switching people to their landline service almost every day.
Raak says HTC looks forward to serving all Sheldon residents well into the future.
