Orange City, Iowa — There will soon be some changes at the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
For many years, Chief Deputy Nate Huizenga has served as both the chief deputy of the Sheriff’s Office, and also the Sioux County Emergency Management Director.
Huizenga tells us what’s happening.
We asked Huizenga if it was more of a personal decision or a strategic decision.
He says it was a joint decision on behalf of the sheriff’s office, the Emergency Management Commission, and Huizenga. He tells us who is on the commission.
Huizenga says a law enforcement officer in Iowa needs to attain the age of 50 and have 22 years of experience to be eligible to retire.
He says if you are interested in the position, it’s on their website and Facebook. If you have any questions, you can contact Huizenga.
