Spencer, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold an event in Spencer on Monday, April 28th to get public input on a roundabout planned for the north junction of Highways 18 and 71, or the North Y.
Plans call for the roundabout to be constructed in the southwest quadrant of that intersection with work expected to start in the spring of 2027. Completion is scheduled for late fall, 2027. Traffic will be detoured during the project utilizing 4th Avenue Northwest and 4th Avenue West.
The April 28th informational session will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Spencer City Hall. D.O.T officials say attendees will be able to visit with staff about the project, but there will not be a formal presentation.
