Iowa To Regionalize Healthcare Coalitions

medical health caduceus_sxcO’Brien County, Iowa — Some changes are coming in the way the state of Iowa funds healthcare coalitions.

O’Brien County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Jared Johnson explains exactly what healthcare coalitions are.

Johnson tells us what entities comprise the O’Brien County Coalition.

He says that, beginning July 1st, the state has mandated the regionalization of healthcare coalitions.

Johnson says the regionalization will effect how the coalitions are funded.

He says he sees a lot of benefit to the new plan.

Johnson says one benefit to come out of regionalization is that the partner counties will become better acquainted with each other, as well as with any equipment assets that one partner may have that can be shared with other partners in case of emergency.
