Akron, Iowa — The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the person killed in a traffic crash near Akron early Monday.
Authorities say that 49-year old Kevin Fant, of Ireton, died after failing to negotiate a curve in the road, his vehicle striking a bridge guardrail, and becoming airborne before striking the creek embankment, coming to rest upside down in the creek. Fant was killed in the crash, according to deputies.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office say they received a call from a passing motorist who noticed some debris on a road near Akron early Monday morning. When a deputy arrived, he reportedly discovered that a vehicle had struck a bridge railing, and rolled onto its top in the creek.
