Ireton Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident

Maurice, Iowa — An Ireton woman was taken to a hospital after an accident near Maurice on Thursday, October 20th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:21 p.m., 83-year-old Clarence Pennings of Orange City was driving a 1486 International farm tractor pulling a grain wagon westbound on 470th Street, about a mile and a half east of Maurice. They report that 45-year-old Kimberley Murra of Ireton was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe, also westbound on 470th Street behind Pennings. The report says Murra struck the rear of the wagon.

The Sioux Center Ambulance took Murra to the Orange City Hospital.

The grain wagon sustained about $50 in damage. The Chevrolet sustained about $8,000 in damage.

Murra was cited on a charge of following too closely.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Sioux Center Ambulance crew, Orange City Fire Department, Maurice Fire Department and Maurice Rescue crew assisted them.
