Northwest Iowa — The Iowa State Patrol has released the latest in it’s video series entitled Windshield Time.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Vince Kurtz says the subject of the latest edition of Windshield Time is something we hope we won’t need to worry about again for several months….winter driving skills.
Kurtz says the number one cause of winter traffic crashes is driver error. The newest Windshield Time talks about some of the most common driver error issues, and offers suggestions to avoid these motoring pitfalls. It discusses such factors as excessive speed, loss of control of your vehicle, and what to do if you go into a skid. It also advises that if the weather is dangerous, your best bet is to not travael. But, he says, if you MUST go, stay updated on weather information.
