Sibley, Iowa — While summer will officially arrive on June 20th, the unofficial calendar says “summer” now. So that must mean it’s time for the Good Ole Summertime festival in Sibley.
This Saturday, the activities will include a Barbeque Cook-Off Competition in Central Park, the Osceola Regional Health Center 5K Fun Run/Walk, a parade on 9th Street at 10:30 a.m., Craft/Art and Treat Vendors in Central Park, Inflatables in Central Park, a Parents of Bright Beginnings Fundraiser Meal, a Sand Volleyball Tournament, a Pickleball Tournament, Open 9 Square Play, a Local Celebrity Dunk Tank Fundraiser, Professor Bubbles, Fire Truck Rides, and Kids BINGO, all at the park, weather permitting.
At night, the fun doesn’t stop. In fact it’s just getting going. Because at 7:00 p.m., it’s time for the Figure 8 Races at the Osceola County Fairgrounds. At 8:00 p.m., it’s Party by the Pit with The White Keys at the Sibley Golf Course. The band starts playing at 9 p.m.
Then on Sunday, the Sibley Fire Department will have their Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. And from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., it’s the McCallum Museum Summer Series – Mainstreet & Community Businesses.
