Jinkinson To Be Featured In “People”

Alex JinkinsonSheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon native who was born without a specific gender identity will be the feature of a “People” magazine article about the struggles and challenges encountered along the road to a surgical procedure that will finally assign the correct gender.

Alex Jinkinson tells KIWA that being neither gender was something that took a long time to accept, but that finaly, this coming Tuesday morning, the issue will be surgically corrected.

In a post on social media, Jinkinson writes that the lack of full body and facial feminization at birth led to doctors giving the wrong birth gender.  Jinkinson says one of the top surgeons in the world will be performing surgery in Beverly Hills, California Tuesday to correct the situation.

Jinkinson says “People” magazine will be documenting the entire journey, and once the surgical healing process is complete, will be in Sheldon for a photo shoot and interview with the Jinkinson family.  Jinkinson’s first solo recording and music video are set to be released at the same time the “People” spread hits the news stands.  The song was written to tell about Jinkinson’s medical and life story.
