Sheldon, Iowa — This is Homecoming Week at the Sheldon Community Schools, and the King & Queen of Homecoming 2022 were crowned Monday night in ceremonies held at Sheldon High School.
Queen Claire Johnson and King Coy De Boer were selected to reign over the balance of the week’s Homecoming activities. Claire is the daughter of Jason and Lisa Johnson, and Coy is the son Don and Shana DeBoer.
Homecoming activities will continue throughout the week, with something scheduled for each day, with He-Man Volleyball and Powder Puff Football, a Talent Show and an assembly at Orab Field. The afternoon activities wrap up with the Homecoming Parade beginning at the middle school and traveling south to East 6th Street, west on East 6th to Union Avenue, then north to East 4th Street, then east past the high school, ending in the high school parking lot. A map of the parade route can be viewed below.
If you can’t make it out to see the Homecoming Parade, you can watch it, live, on KIWA’s Facebook page.
The Homecoming festivities culminate in Friday night’s football game against Cherokee, which can be heard on KIWA-AM 1550 and FM 100.7, as well as the video livestream on KIWA’s Facebook page, followed by the Homecoming dance.
