Jones Case Pushed Back

Sheldon, Iowa — The pretrial conference for a Sheldon optometrist accused of assault has been pushed back.

According to the Sheldon Police Department, 68-year-old Dr. Allen Jones is charged with Aggravated Assault, a Serious Misdemeanor, in connection with an incident police say happened at a Sheldon business in December.

The pretrial conference had been set for Monday, April 13, 2015, but it has been postponed until Thursday, May 28th. The trial had been set to begin on April 28th. Court records indicate that no new trial date has been set.

Jones’ written plea was taken at an arraignment in February.
