June Slightly Warmer, Much Drier Than Average

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon finished June slightly warmer than normal, but cooler than last June.

June, 2022 saw an average high temperature in Sheldon of 82-degrees, that’s 3-degrees warmer than the average June high of 79. It was, however, some 4-degrees cooler than June, 2021, when the average high reached 86. The warmest temperature reached in June this year was 97-degrees, which was recorded on June 14th, 20th, 21st and 30th.

Our average low for June this year was 59-degrees, or 4-degrees warmer than the average low of 55, but matched the June, 2021 average low. The coolest temperature for the month was 45-degrees, which was recorded on June 1st, 2nd and 26th.

As for precipitation, just 1.88-inches of moisture fell on Sheldon during June this year, which is 2.03-inches below normal June precipitation.
