Northwest Iowa — The four-county area of O’Brien, Osceola, Lyon and Sioux reported a total of just five new cases of COVID-19 Monday.
Information from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows that Sioux County added three cases, bringing their total to 4279 since the pandemic began. Lyon County reported one new case, for a total of 1226. Osceola County also had a case increase of one, bringing their case total to 607. O’Brien County reported no new cases Monday, remaining at a total of 1574 cases since the pandemic began.
No deaths were reported in the four-county area Monday, leaving the area at a total of 122 deaths since the pandemic started. Osceola County has had seven deaths. Lyon County’s death toll is 24, Sioux’s is 41, and O’Brien’s is 50.
Of the 1,226 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1039 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 85%.
Of the 4,279 Sioux County residents to test positive, 3759 have recovered, for a rate of about 88%.
Of the 1,574 O’Brien County residents who have tested positive, 1325 have recovered, for a rate of about 84%.
Of the 607 Osceola County residents who tested positive for COVID-19, 531 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 88%.
