Sheldon, Iowa — The Community Blood Bank held a blood drive at KIWA on Thursday, September 14th, and blood bank officials tell us it went well.
Blood bank officials say that a total of 25 units of blood were donated, which they say can help up to 75 local patients. Since one pint of blood can be separated into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, the pint has the ability to go to up to three different patients. They tell us they appreciate KIWA’s support of Community Blood Bank and the support of those who donated.
KIWA wants to echo the blood bank’s sentiments. We also want to thank everyone who came in to donate.
KIWA and the Community Blood Bank will join forces again in February 2024 for another blood drive.
