Library Establishing Capital Improvement Fund

Sheldon, Iowa — For the first time in history the Sheldon Public Library is establishing a Capital Improvement Fund.

Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker says that while the City Council doesn’t have to approve the creation of such a fund, they are in support of the Library Board’s decision.

Kooiker says there is a great relationship between the library and the city.

He says the Library Capital Improvement Fund will help the city at budget time.

Kooiker points out that the library building is more than 50 years old, and will, at some point, be needing improvements.
