Mayor Addresses Water Bill Rumors

Sheldon, Iowa — Thursday (February 15th) Sheldon Mayor Katricia Meendering made an appearance on the KIWA Morning Show with Wayne and Aaron, and discussed various aspects of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Facility project.

Mayor Meendering began by explaining some of the preliminary requirements the City is in the process of completing.

There have been rumors circulating in town that the project would double the rates charged by the City for the sewer portion of residents water bills. Meendering addressed those rumors.

Meendering says one major aspect of the project was figuring out how to pay for it.

The Mayor says the project must be completed by the year 2020 in order to satisfy federal regulations and avoid the City being fined by the federal government.
