UPDATE: Merry Money SOLD OUT

UPDATE:
It’s the fastest that Sheldon Merry Money has ever sold out — that from Sheldon Chamber & Development Executive Director Curt Strouth. He says that as of just before 9:30 this morning (Tuesday), the entire $125,000 of Merry Money had sold out. It had been on sale since 7:00 a.m. Merry Money is always sold on Election Day near the polling location, which is the Crossroads Pavilion in Sheldon. Strouth says Merry Money seems to sell out faster when there’s heavy voting traffic.

Sheldon, Iowa — It’s that time of the year again, Merry Money is going on sale this Tuesday, November 8th.

Ashley Nordahl, the Sheldon Chamber Director, tells KIWA where and when Merry Money can be bought.

She says there is $2,000 limit per household and Merry Money is sold in $10 increments, but when you buy Merry Money you do get a discount.

The Merry Money needs to be used in a certain amount of time Nordahl says.

Merry Money is a way to keep shopping localized. There are 37 businesses in Sheldon accepting Merry Money. Some merchants do have exceptions.

It is important to remember that when all the Merry Money is sold out, it’s gone. Merry Money can be purchased only this Tuesday, November 8th at Crossroads Pavilion Event Center from seven in the morning until either seven at night or the money runs out, whichever happens first.
