Merry Money Sales Total Down Slightly From 2015

merry-moneySheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s annual sale of Merry Money was held yesterday (Monday, November 7th), with $125,300 in Merry Money distributed.

Each year Merry Money is sold at a 10-percent discount, for one day only, and can be used at any participating Sheldon business by December 24th.

41 Sheldon businesses have decided to take Merry Money this year. Michele Honkomp from the SCDC says that’s most of the downtown businesses and some in other parts of town too.

Honkomp says that printing costs for Merry Money certificates, fliers and advertising are again being shared by the four Sheldon banks, and Honkomp said she wanted to thank the Sheldon media for providing in-kind advertising for Merry Money too.

This year’s total of $125,300 in Merry Money sales is about $9-thousand less than last year.
