Warm But High Winds Today and Tomorrow

Strong southerly winds will begin to usher in warmer temperatures today, and especially Monday. Winds gusting in excess of 40-45 mph at times today will also lead to very high fire danger. A few showers or thunderstorms become possible by late this evening with a better chance of thunderstorms late Monday and Monday night. Any storms Monday stand the chance at being strong to severe, especially along and west of I-29.

Warm weather will build into the region today and Monday and also be accompanied by strong southerly winds. This will cause any fire to become uncontrollable in a matter of minutes due to very dry grasses and brush. Please use extra caution to avoid fire starts!
Most rivers are slowly falling, but minor to moderate flooding will continue across the area through the weekend. Watch for flooding of roads and low-lying areas. For the latest flood information, please visit: https://water.weather.gov
