Multiple Departments Called For Primghar House Fire

Primghar, Iowa — A house and garage were extensively damaged in a fire on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Primghar.

According to Primghar Fire Chief Gary Lansink, about 5:10 p.m., the Primghar Fire Department was called to the report of a house fire at 975 South Hayes Avenue. The chief says the fire department saw the garage was fully engulfed as they approached the scene.

Lansink says no injuries were reported, and the family, as well as three cats, were able to escape the blaze.

He says the Sanborn and Paullina Fire Departments helped out, providing manpower and water to fight the fire.

Lansink says the cause of the fire is undetermined but the occupants had put out a small fire in the garage on Friday, he says.

Chief Lansink reports that there was very extensive damage. He says they used 6,000 gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene until 8:30 p.m.

Primghar, Iowa — Firefighters from multiple O’Brien County Communities were called to a house fire in Primghar Saturday evening.

About 5:00 pm, the Primghar Fire Department were called to the report of a house fire at a residence on South Hayes Avenue in Primghar. Sources say the house and garage were fully involved when the fire department arrived, and the call was immediately put out for assistance from both Paullina and Sanborn Fire Departments.
