Names Released In Lennox Shooting

Lennox, South Dakota — Law enforcement personnel have now released the names of the victims and the man they think was the shooter in Thursday afternoon, February 12th’s shooting.

They say the shooting occurred at Sioux Steel’s Pro-Tec plant in Lennox, SD. crime scene tape over lightbarThey report that 45-year-old Jon Richter of Lennox was the victim who was shot and killed. The victim who was shot, but survived the attack was identified as 46-year-old Kathy Steever, also of Lennox. She was critically injured, but after surgery is doing much better, according to her family. One person was also injured in an altercation. He was 45-year-old Brian Roesler of Marion. He has been treated and released say law enforcement officials.

The suspect was identified as 51-year-old Jeffrey DeZeeuw of Sioux Falls.

They are now saying that DeZeeuw’s body was found in a burned out truck south of Lennox. At this time they think he shot and killed himself, but they don’t know for sure how the fire started.
