Sheldon, Iowa — A northwest Iowa institute of higher education again ranks high on a list of the best colleges.
Northwest Iowa Community College — or NCC — in Sheldon was recently ranked third on a list of 2020 Best Online Community Colleges in Iowa, released by Guide to Online Schools. They say that they are a free and comprehensive guide that enables students to compare all online colleges in the U.S. Officials say they want to help driven people accomplish their education goals in a financially responsible manner. By providing resources that are easy to use but hard to find elsewhere, Guide to Online Schools reports that they hope to empower more Americans to go to college while lowering the overall cost of earning a degree.
The guide says that NCC offers 27 Online Associate Degrees and 13 online certificates in fields such as nursing, health information technology, business, several pre-professional programs, marketing, medical coding, and many more.
The guide says NCC has partnered with Gatlin Education Services and Ed2Go to offer hundreds of classes and courses online. Ed2Go’s instructor-guided courses run for six to eight weeks, and each consists of 12 lessons. Prospective students can take an online quiz on NCC’s website to see if distance learning is a good fit for them.
