NCC Cuts Ribbon On New Facility

Sheldon, Iowa — The ribbon was cut on the latest construction project at Northwest Iowa Community College, the building that will house the Automotive and Diesel area.

Shantel Oostra spoke on behalf of the City of Sheldon and the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation.

On behalf of the Sheldon Ambassadors, President Skip Tanner presented a plaque commemorating the ribbon cutting to Steve Waldstein who is the Dean of Applied Technology and Workforce for NCC.

Waldstein talked about a partnership the college has entered into that will keep students from having to buy several thousand dollars worth of tools before they can take part in the school’s automotive and diesel programs.

Waldstein says NCC has formed a partnership with a major tool manufacturer to help alleviate that problem.

The Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held late Monday afternoon in conjunction with an open house, and tours of the new facility.
