NCC Officials Proud Of Nursing Students’ Performance Competency Tests

Sheldon, Iowa — A northwest Iowa institute of higher learning is proud of its students.

Officials with Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) in Sheldon tell us they are, “thrilled” to announce the exceptional performance of their Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing programs on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX). The NCLEX is a nationally recognized examination that assesses the competencies required for newly licensed nurses, whether they are pursuing a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN).

Calling the feat, “remarkable,” NCC officials tell us that their 38 Practical Nursing and Extended Practical Nursing program graduates (LPN) achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate for the 2023 cohorts. Likewise, the Associate Degree Nursing Program and Extended Associate Degree program graduates (RN) excelled with a 100% pass rate for the 27 May graduates and an overall pass rate of 94.3% for 2023.
