Sheldon — The SkillsUSA Charitable Chariots chapter at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon has given away 24 cars to families that have applied and been selected, and on Friday they will give away their 25th car.
SkillsUSA is an organization that is run by students at NCC. This program promotes professional development, community service, and technical training. Students who are in the Automotive Service and Light Duty Diesel and the Diesel Technology programs refurbish vehicles and then donate them to families in the area who have applied and been selected by local social service agencies.
This time, the Family Crisis Center chose the family that will receive the vehicle. The family chosen will be on campus on January 20th at 11:30 a.m. in room D422.
