Hartley, Iowa — Recently, it was announced that the medical clinic in Hartley will soon change affiliations from MercyOne to Spencer Hospital/Avera. Now, the name of the new provider there has been announced.
According to Spencer Hospital officials, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Jamie Billings will serve as the primary healthcare provider for the newly-established Hartley Family Care of Spencer Hospital, which will open later this summer. They tell us that Billings, who lives in Hartley, will support the health care needs of people in her home community and the surrounding area, from birth to geriatric services. She is currently the primary family medicine practitioner at Milford Family Care of Spencer Hospital.
Spencer Hospital officials tell us that at Hartley Family Care, Billings will provide general family practice services including preventative care, treatment of episodic illness, physicals, chronic disease management, and referral to specialists. She specializes in diabetes management, cardiac issues such as heart failure and coronary artery disease, and women’s health issues.
Billings says she’s very excited to join the Hartley Family Care team. She says she’s looking forward to ensuring local access to healthcare services for O’Brien County residents and helping each patient focus on their good health. She says she has greatly appreciated her patients and team at Milford Family Care and will actively support the smooth transition to a new primary care provider for the Milford clinic.
Billings has led the healthcare team at Milford Family Care for the past four years. Previously, she served as a family nurse practitioner with Dr. Stephen Veit in Cherokee for 13 years.
Hartley Family Care will be located within the clinic space of Hartley’s Community Memorial Health Center. The family medicine clinic will be managed by Spencer Hospital in collaboration with Avera Medical Group Spencer. Spencer Hospital will be offering updates about the opening date for Hartley Family Care and appointment scheduling opportunities as clinic operation preparations are finalized.
