Sheldon, Iowa — A new city manager is serving the City of Sheldon.
He is Sean Hutchison, and he has been at work in Sheldon for the last week. He tells us about his background.
Hutchison tells us what has occupied his time for the last week and his short-term goals.
We asked Hutchison what made him want to come to Sheldon.
He emphasizes that he keeps an open-door policy and that he’s here to serve the community and resolve issues.
According to information released by the City of Sheldon, Hutchison holds the designation of Certified Public Manager from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Kennedy-Western University in Cheyenne, Wyoming along with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Advanced Supervisory Management from Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The information says Hutchison’s starting salary in Sheldon will be $95-thousand a year.
He says when the family’s home sells in Texas, they will look at purchasing a home in Sheldon. Hutchison says he’s been married for 29 years and they have two children, a 15-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter.
