Sioux Falls, SD — While the year is new, the situation is not. Blood banks across the nation are still low on blood.
We talked to Ken Ver Steeg from the Community Blood Bank, the main blood bank serving our part of northwest Iowa.
He tells us why that is.
VerSteeg tells us about some opportunities for you to help bolster the blood supply.
VerSteeg also mentioned the many people who over their lifetimes have given multiple gallons of blood and the hundreds of lives they may have saved by giving blood.
There are also some opportunities coming up in February. The bloodmobile will be at the Netherlands Reformed Christian School in Rock Valley on February 10th. And the Sheldon Heroes Behind The Badges Blood Drive will be on February 21st.
